WHITE DENIED ROTAX MAX BRITISH TITLE AT THE DEATH
September 25, 2016
PF International, Grantham, UK
Mixed / Overcast
Josh White was cruelly denied the Rotax Max British Championship with two laps to go, finishing 2nd overall. Skelton takes 3rd overall in Rotax Max and Edgar becomes Vice-Champion in Minimax...
The final round of the Super One British Karting Championships took place at PF International, where Coles Racing were still in the fight for the Rotax Max British Championship title.
In Minimax, the title had already been provisionally won - meaning Jonny Edgar was fighting for the Vice-Champion position. A difficult qualifying saw Edgar set the 12th fastest time, with teammates Ravenscroft and Burgess placing 6th and 18th respectively.
In the heats, Edgar battled through to a 3rd and a 2nd, to give him a front row start in 2nd on the grid for the Pre-Final. Ravenscroft took a 4th and a 19th in his heats to line up 10th on the grid - Burgess took 11th and a 13th on his way to qualifying 12th on the grid.
The Pre-Final saw Edgar get pushed out of the fight for the lead early on, after some robust driving demoted him down the order.
He faught back to 4th before a last lap tussle saw him finish in 6th. Ravenscroft equally suffered a tough race, finishing in 16th. Burgess suffered the same fate as Ravenscroft, bumped down to last position on the second lap, being forced to settle for 18th at the flag.
The Final saw both Ravenscroft and Burgess make up good progress in the race, gaining 8 and 6 positions respectively. Edgar was less fortunate, a challenging race at the front saw places change consistently through the race - Edgar finishing 5th at the chequered flag. The results secured Edgar 2nd overall in the championship, with Ravenscroft a strong 6th and Burgess taking the Rookie Title 13th overall.
Tyler Chesterton was aiming to take his Shenington form into the final round of the championship. He set the 7th quickest time in Qualifying in a challenging session, before going on to take a 6th and a 3rd in his two heat - meaning a second row start from 4th on the grid for the Pre-Final.
An incident in the Pre-Final shuffled him out of contention for the top places, but he recovered back up to 9th, giving him the favoured inside line for turn one.
The Final saw him make brilliant progress. Consistently the fastest kart on track, setting the fastest lap of the race he hauled himself into podium contention, before it all kicked off at the front in the championship fight! Chesterton was baulked and finished the race in 5th position overall, which he was unlucky to not get atleast some silverwear from.
He ended the season 7th overall, after a difficult start to the season thwarted his top 3 aspirations.
Josh White and Josh Skelton were well in contention for the top 3 of the Rotax Max Championship and the prestigious tickets for the World Finals. Skelton set the 2nd fastest lap in qualifying, with White 4th, Tom Croydon 7th and Morgan Rose 8th fastest.
White stated his claim for the title with a heat win and a 3rd place finish - putting him on pole position for the Pre-Final. Skelton took a 4th and a 6th in his heats to line up 4th on the gird, whilst Rose and Croydon would start 8th and 10th after a pair of solid finishes.
White was knocked off the top step in the Pre-Final, as a rival driver made good progress through the field - in the process however it elevated White's championship rival a place ahead of him, as White finished 3rd at the flag - meaning it was winner takes all in the Final race, or the final round! Skelton took 4th, Croydon gained four positions to finish 6th and Rose finished in 8th position.
The Grand Final saw White take the initiative at the start, jumping ahead of his main rival for 2nd. Skelton was taken out of contention on the second lap, and was forced to spectate for the remainder of the race. A race-long duel between White and McCarthy for the title went to the very last lap, until a rival driving made a wild lunge, knocked White off-line allowing McCarthy through in controversial circumstances. White would finish the race in 3rd position, meaning a tie-break on points with McCarthy for the championship.
Agonisingly the driver with the highest drop score was declared the champion, meaning White was cruelly denied the British Championship. Skelton took 3rd overall and won a ticket to the Rotax World Finals, where teammate White has already qualified via the Rotax Euro Challenge. Rose and Croydon finished 6th and 7th in the final - contributing to them finishing 7th and 9th overall in a solid campaign for the pair of them.
After a relentless season of the Super One British Karting Championship, various club events, the X30 UK Tour and the Rotax Euro Challenge, the final race of the season takes place at the Rotax World Finals in Sarno, Italy on the 15-22 October. Stay tuned to see how drivers Jonny Edgar, Josh White and Josh Skelton will fair in the biggest event of the year!
YORK TAKES X30 JUNIOR LGM TITLE!
September 18, 2016
Whilton Mill, Daventry, UK
Dry / Cloudy
Oliver York has taken the LGM X30 UK Tour Championship with a round to spare in the Junior X30 class, after a 2nd place finish at Whilton Mill, rounding off a dominant season!
Coles Racing pair of Oliver York and Bhavmeet Singh took the trip to Whilton Mill for the eigth round of the Little Green Man Series ran X30 UK Tour.
York had the chance to put the title beyond reach at this race by outscoring his nearest rivals.
The opening heat saw York start 21st and Singh start 25th. Great race pace allowed York to carve his way through the field, setting the fastest lap on his was to gaining fourteen positions - crossing the line in 7th position.
Singh was not as a fortunate, as a difficult race saw him knocked back that he was unable to recover from - finishing in 26th position.
The second heat for York was another strong drive through the pack. Going off from 15th on the grid, York made quick work of the drivers around him to vault himself up to 6th by half distance. Into the final lap he made a bold move stick, climbing two further places and finishing the race in 4th.
Singh's second race was a luckless one. After a solid start from 16th on the grid, he was shuffled down the pack after a lunge from a rival driver - forcing him off the track. He managed to recover, but only to 27th position at the flag.
York's final heat involved him starting from 8th on the grid. Two brilliant laps at the start of the race vaulted him up to 2nd position in the race. He reeled in the race leader but was unable to make a move stick - finishing his heat in 2nd position and giving himself pole position for the final.
Singh experienced another luckless final heat, meaning he would have to come through the B Final. Starting from 16th on the grid, he made steady progress through the field, gaining four positions in total to finish in 12th position. Sadly he wouldn't qualify for the A Final, but the experience will hold him in good sted for the final round at PF International.
Going off pole position in the final, York had the title in his sights! An early scrap for the lead with a rival driver saw the lead change back and forth multiple times until lap 10 when York made the move stick and pulled a gap. As the race neared the conclusion, rival driver Callum Bradshaw caught York and made a move for the lead - York knowing his championship position didn't fight him, instead he stuck to his rear bumper for the final laps - finishing 0.2s behind in 2nd position, therefore taking the LGM X30 Junior title with a round to spare!
Our Rotax drivers will be aiming to add to York's title success next weekend at the PF International Circuit on the 23-25 September . Josh White is leading the Rotax Max standings, with Josh Skelton holding third overall with dropped scores taken into account. Jonny Edgar will be pushing for the Vice-Champion position in Minimax, whilst Tyler Chesterton will aim to double up on his Shenington victory!
CHESTERTON DOMINANTES AT SHENINGTON SUPER ONE
September 11, 2016
Shenington, Banbury, UK
Dry / Cloudy
Tyler Chesterton took both final victories in Junior Rotax at Shenington at the Super One Series. Josh White took a pair of second place finishes, whilst Jonny Edgar dropped out of Minimax Contention...
Shenington played host to the penultimate round of the Super One British Karting Championships for the Rotax Classes.
Jonny Edgar, Clayton Ravenscroft and Ben Burgess qualified 2nd, 6th and 13th respectively on the grid - for where they would start their two heats from.
Edgar took a 4th and 3rd in his two heats to put himself third on the grid for the Pre-Final. A pair of 5th place finishes for Ravenscroft meant he would go off the inside of the third row, whilst Burgess took a solid 10th and 13th to start tenth on the grid for the Pre-Final.
The Pre-Final didn't go the way for Edgar, after being pushed down to 7th position on the third lap, he had it all to do and battled back up to 4th at the flag. Ravenscroft made a brilliant start to 2nd position before he was shoved wide at half distance, demoting him to 11th at the flag. Burgess faired well and kept out of trouble to take 9th position after a strong racelong showing.
From the beginning of the Final, the two leaders managed to build a gap to the chasing pack. Edgar had battled up to 3rd position, but with a five second deficit to the leaders, he had to be content with the podium. Burgess completed his strongest weekend of the season so far with 10th, whilst Ravenscroft ran out of luck when a nosecone penalty topped off an unlucky pair of finals for him.
Tyler Chesterton had a difficult qualifying in the wet conditions, lining up 8th fastest overall. He put in two very strong heats after fighting his way through in both to claim a 3rd and a 5th place finish - meaning he would start the Pre-Final from third on the grid.
Chesterton went with the front two in the early stages of the race, keeping tabs on proceedings before making his move on the thirteenth lap. He managed to bag the lead of the race and hold it to the end, breaking the slipstream to win by 0.8s.
Going off pole position in the Final, despite being dropped down to 5th position on the third lap, he kept his focus and managed to battle his way back into the lead of the race by lap 12 after some calculated moves to minimize the time loss while overtaking. He defended well to the flag and bagged himself a pair of final victories and a well deserved trophy for 1st position in Junior Max!
The Senior Max team of Josh White, Josh Skelton, Morgan Rose, Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte faired well in the wet qualifying session, taking 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 14th respectively.
The results of the two heats gave Skelton pole position for the Pre-Final, with Rose taking a season best 4th on the grid. White lined up 6th on the grid after an incident in the second heat. Croydon lined up in 8th position and Le Vesconte in 14th.
Skelton surrendered the lead on the opening lap but stayed with the leading pack. Meanwhile teammate White was coming through, taking Skelton for 2nd at the end of lap two. White held on for 2nd at the flag, with Skelton 4th. Rose took 9th position after being delayed by a mid-race battle. Le Vesconte gained three positions to finish a solid 11th, whilst Croydon fell foul of a nosecone infringement, demoting him to 14th.
White hit the front onf the third lap of the Final, and was embroiled in a race with rival Josh Collings for the victory throughout the eighteen lap final, ultimately falling short by just 0.1s at the finish! Skelton was unable to replicate his early weekend form after being pushed back to 7th position in the race, before contact dislodged his nosecone and ruined his chances of a strong finish. Rose and Croydon came home in 9th and 12th positions and Le Vesconte ws classified 14th, after being knocked off the track early on and having to recover lost ground.
The team go into the final round of the championship in just two weeks time at PF International in the lead of the Rotax Max British Championship, with White aiming to seal the title to go alongside his 3rd position overall in the Rotax Euro Challege. Jonny Edgar can no longer become the Minimax British Champion after his rival managed to build up an unassailable advantage - but he will be determined to take the Vice-Champion slot on the 23-25 September.
VICTORY AT ROWRAH PUTS YORK IN CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION
August 29, 2016
Rowrah, Cumbria, UK
Dry / Cloudy
Coles Racing driver Oliver York seized the advantage in the Rowrah Little Green Man double header event, to come out of the event within touching distance of the x30 Junior Title...
Rowrah hosted a two day event for the Little Green Man X30 UK Tour. The two rounds would be back to back - one on Saturday and one on Sunday that all count towards the championship standings.
Saturday's event saw Oliver York and Bhavmeet Singh brave the wet conditions. Both endured torrid first heats! Singh being penalised for a nosecone infringement and York registering a non-finish after just two laps.
York hit back with a 4th in his second heat, with Singh improving to a 23rd in his heat.
Their final heats saw York take a strong third position, salvaging a solid starting position for the Saturday final of 15th despite a heat DNF. Singh was unable to start his last heat due to technical gremlins and was forced into the B Final.
In the B Final, Singh experienced improved pace in the difficult conditions, albeit struggling to get through the pack - as he finished 7th.
York went off the inside of the eighth row of the grid and made a blistering start, jumping to 10th position at the end of the opening lap. By half distance he had advanced up to 5th position, setting fastest laps on the way. With two laps to go, he made a decisive move to take 3rd position - which he held to the flag!
After a strong comeback in the Saturday event, York was in good form straight from the word go in Sunday's racing. After starting 2nd on the grid for his first heat, he duly took the lead and the victory to get his second day off to the perfect start.
Singh had a difficult opening heat - after starting 4th on the grid, he was muscled out by a train of karts that left him on the back foot. He regathered himself to finish the race in 20th position.
York took another victory in his second heat, this time from 18th on the grid - setting the fastest lap on the way to registered two wins from two heats so far. Singh made progress from 29th on the grid to finish in 26th despite struggling with the final bit of pace.
Singh was taken out on the opening lap of the final heat, denying him a chance to fight for an A Final position. Teammate York, starting from 26th on the grid managed to gain eighteen positions, finishing 8th at the flag and bagging himself pole position for the Final.
Singh took 5th position in the B Final, just missing out on a place in the A Final!
Going off pole position in the Final, York held the lead for the opening laps - despite constant pressure from rival Ethan Hawkey, York maintained the lead all the way to flag, registering yet another victory in the series, taking his championship position to a very encouraging lead over his rivals.
The next round of the LGM X30 UK Tour will be at Whilton Mill on the 11-12 September for the penultimate round of the championship.
WHITE BAGS WORLD FINALS TICKET WITH 3RD IN EUROMAX
August 28, 2016
Salbris, France
Dry / Sunny
Coles Racing Driver Josh White took third overall in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, which bagged himself a ticket to the Rotax World Championships in Sarno at the end of the season...
The final round of the Rotax Euro Challenge took place at Salbris in France for the Coles Racing Junior and Senior Rotax competitors.
Adam Smalley came into the final round with a great shout of a top 5 finish in the standings. However his weekend got off to a horrible start - a difficult qualifying left him down in 26th position!
Smalley put on a great set of fightbacks in his heats. Heat one saw him gain twelve positions to finish in 13th. In his second heat he gained eight positions to finish in 17th and gained eleven positions in the final heat to finish in 14th.
This gave him a starting position of 15th for the Pre-Final.
Smalley put on another good performance through the field. Keeping out of trouble as drivers all around him were making various contacts and getting penalised for nosecone infringements - he managed to take a solid 9th place finish.
Going off 9th position in the final, Smalley made a good start to elevate himself up to 7th. However on the fourth lap, a rival driver made contact with him, dropping him to the back of the field. Smalley then had to fightback from 26th in the remaining ten laps - salvaging 18th at the flag in a disappointing end to such a strong comeback drive throughout the weekend.
The usual Rotax Max team of Josh White, Josh Skelton, Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte were joined by Zak Fulk for the final round of the championship.
A difficult qualifying for the team saw the drivers post the 10th, 17th, 29th, 32nd and 33rd fastest times after only being able to get in four timed laps in the short session.
White managed to recover to 11th position in the opening heat, with teammate Skelton just pipping Fulk to the line for 16th - as Fulk gained twelve positions in the race. Teammates Croydon and Le Vesconte also gained ground to finish 23rd and 26th respectively.
The second heat saw Skelton fair the best with a 9th place finish. Le Vesconte gained thirteen places to finish in 20th as teammate White endured a tough heat to finish one place behind. Fulk was given a five place penalty for a tough manoeuvre, deducting him to 27th at the finish, whilst Croydon registered a non-finish.
The final heat was another difficult race for the Coles drivers, with Skelton again fairing the best in 12th, White took 14th, Croydon gained thirteen positions to bag a solid 17th, Fulk took 21st and Le Vesconte 29th at the flag.
The Pre-Final was a messy affair with many drivers gaining penalties for front fairing infringements. Skelton was dropped down the order from his 9th place grid slot to finish in 13th, just ahead of teammate White. Le Vesconte and Croydon finished close together in 26th and 27th, whilst the luckless Fulk's race ended on the opening lap.
The two Josh's worked together well in the Grand Final, both making strong progress through the field to recover some solid points, with a 6th position finish for White, just ahead of Skelton at the flag. Fulk made a brilliant recovery drive to 10th position after starting 33rd! A five second nosecone penalty however demoted him to 16th at the chequered flag. Croydon recovered 7 positions in the final to recover to a solid 20th overall - whilst Le Vesconte also made good progress to finish in 23rd position.
At the end of an up and down European season, Coles Racing ended up with Smalley taking 7th overall in Juniors aswell as bagging the Winter Cup Title at the start of the season.
Josh White took 3rd overall in the Rotax Max standings to secure himself a ticket to the Rotax World Finals, where he will be competing for the World Championship in the class at Sarno in October. Skelton, Croydon and Le Vesconte took 14th, 23rd and 26th overall in their debut seasons in the Euro Challenge, with the experience to build on in the future.
The focus now turns back to the Little Green Man X30 Tour and Super One British Championship final rounds, as Oliver York is in the fight to win the LGM Junior X30 title, whilst Josh White and Jonny Edgar are in the fight for the titles in Rotax Max and Minimax respectively.
LUCKLESS LARKHALL ENDS COLES PODIUM RUN
August 14, 2016
Larkhall, Hamilton ,UK

The Coles Racing team endured a difficult weekend at Larkhall, where podium finishes in the two finals eluded their drivers and ended the impressive run of podium finishes in the championship...
Larkhall hosted the ninth round of the Super One Series and the fifth round for the Rotax classes competing for the British Championship.
Jonny Edgar, Clayton Ravenscroft and Ben Burgess took 5th, 6th and 10th respectively in qualifying for their heats in Minimax.
Edgar faired the best with a 3rd and a 4th in his two heats to give him fourth on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Ravenscroft took a pair of 6th place finishes to line up 5th on the Pre-Final grid. Teammate Burgess took a solid 11th and 10th place to give himself a tenth place starting slot.
The Pre-Final saw Edgar knocked to the rear of the field on the opening lap, forcing him to fight back up to 10th at the flag. Ravenscroft managed to maintain his 5th position from his starting grid, whilst Burgess faught hard for the top ten, ultimately finishing 11th at the end of the race.
In the Final Edgar managed to fight back through the pack to salvage a 5th position, keeping himself in the championship hunt and banking the points. Ravenscroft and Burgess had difficult finals, finishing 8th and 12th respectively in a tough race for our Minimax drivers.
Tyler Chesterton set the 11th fastest time in qualifying in a super close session in Junior Rotax. He made great progress in the opening heat to take 4th position and a solid 9th in the second heat to give himself fifth on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Chesterton managed to maintain his 5th position at the chequered flag in the Pre-Final, despite a constant race fight between fourth and sixth position throughout the race - gaining the advantageous inside line for the Final.
The Grand Final was a huge scrap for the podium positions. The race leader managed to build a gap, but Chesterton was in three way fight for second - Positions changed race long but Chesterton just missed out on the podium by 0.27s!
Rotax Max qualifying saw Josh Skelton lead Josh White in a Coles Racing 3rd and 4th on the grid, with teammates Stephanie Le Vescone and Tom Croydon lining up 13th and 14th on the grid for the heats.
Croydon endured a challenging opening heat but came back with a solid 11th place finish in his second heat. Skelton bagged a strong 3rd and 5th in the heats to line up second on the grid for the Pre-Final. Le Vesconte took a solid pair of finishes with 12th and 13th to take thirteenth on the grid. Championship contender White endured a torrid pair of heats, taking an 8th and a non-finish in his second heat - meaning he would start 12th in the Pre-Final.
White made a great comeback to elevate himself six positions up to 6th, just one position behind teammate Skelton. Croydon and Le Vesconte took 13th and 14th in the Pre-Final.
The Final saw more frustration for the Coles Racing squad, Skelton and White were both pushed down the order in a frantic final, finishing in 6th and 7th position respectively. Croydon managed to gain a place to finish 12th and Le Vesconte maintained 14th in the final results.
Overall a difficult weekend for the Coles team as a bit of ground was lost on all fronts in the standings, but the aim is to fight back in the next round at Shenington on the 9-11 September.
CRUEL KARTMASTERS DENIES COLES PODIUM SWEEP
August 8, 2016
PF International, Grantham, UK
Dry / Sunny
TYLER CHESTERTON SECURES JUNIOR MAX PODIUM FOR COLES RACING AT KARTMASTERS, WHILST OLIVER YORK WAS CRUELY DENIED THE JUNIOR X30 VICTORY AFTER A POST RACE PENALTY. EDGAR NARROWLY MISSES OUT ON MINI WIN.
The British Kart Grand Prix took place in it's usual slot at the beginning of August, blessed with sunshine and warm weather.
Jonny Edgar took pole position in timed qualifying, following it up with a win and a 4th in his opening two heats. Clayton Ravenscroft took the 6th fastest time, just 0.08s off Edgar's pole lap. He went on to claim 3rd and 6th in his first two heats.
Quali 2 was a sharp contrast to the first session, Edgar was excluded from the session on a technicality, whilst Ravenscroft struggled with a technical problem, finishing down in 16th overall.
Both drivers faught back well in thier heats, Ravenscroft taking a 5th and a 4th, whilst Edgar took a 7th and an 8th from the back of the field in both.
The Pre-Final saw them line up 3rd and 4th on the grid after their strong fight backs. Edgar shadowed the leader throughout the race, guaranteeing himself a front row start for the Grand Prix final. Ravenscroft was running 6th throughout the race in the fight for 3rd, until half distance when a technical issue saw him grind to a halt-meaning he would start the final from 22nd position.
Edgar maintained position for the opening lap in the final, until rival Patterson overtook him into turn one, the incident seeing Edgar pitch onto his rear bumper
losing Edgar a batch of places, falling to 7th. He began to turn in fastest laps to vault himself back up to 3rd by lap six The two Strawberry Racing drivers at the front worked together to keep Edgar at bay until they began to fight. Edgar went for an audacious move around the outside of the pair of them at the hairpin, before running out of road and consequentially falling down the field. He would recover these positions, only to try the same move again and fall foul of the same outcome. Edgar finished the race in 6th position, not getting the result his pace deserved. Ravenscroft made a meteoric rise through the field! Despatching karts on a regular basis to claw himself into contention. He finished a brilliant 4th on the road, less than a second behind the leader, until a post race penalty dropped him 10 seconds, undoing all his great work.
Tyler Chesterton and Oliver Luc were the Coles Racing representatives in Junior Rotax, setting the 2nd and 8th fastest times in the first qualifying session. They went on to take 1st and 14th in the opening heat, followed by a 2nd for Chesterton in heat 2, with Luc being taken out of 9th position by a rival driver.
Qualifying 2 saw Chesterton stick it 3rd on the grid for his remaining two heats, whilst Luc was denied a solid session by technical gremlins. Chesterton took another top three finish in his next heat, but fell foul of a nosecone infringement in the fourth heat, demoting him to 15th position.
Luc came back through the field well after his unfortunate qualifying to notch a 7th and a 10th place finish.
The heat results gave the drivers 5th and 12th on the grid respectively. Sadly Luc was unable to take part in the remainder of the weekend, with Chesterton the only driver racing in the Junior Max Grand Prix.
Chesterton endured a difficult Pre-Final, unable to exploit his pace in a very tight race long battle for 3rd position, finishing 6th - where he would start the final.
In the Grand Prix final, Chesterton endured the difficult start from the outside, but came into the race late on to hit the front of the battle for the podium, pulling a gap to take a 3rd on the track, later becoming 2nd after a penalty affected the driver infront. This marked another great podium finish for one of our longest serving drivers.
Zak Fulk made his full return to karting with Coles Racing competing in the Senior OK Class, making their first visit to Kartmasters. After a problem in qualifying 1 thwarted his pace, Fulk raced back to 6th and 7th in the two following heats.
Qualifying 2 saw Fulk take the 11th fastest time - which is where he would start his heats. A 7th and an 8th place finish followed given Fulk a P7 start for the Pre-Final.
A difficult race in the fastest karts in attendance took it's toll on the drivers, with Fulk finishing 9th in the Pre-Final. The Grand Prix Final was not to be for Fulk, as a collision with another driver over the bridge saw him span around and out of contention for a good result - finishing the race in 12th position.
Oliver York took the fight to the Junior X30 grid, aiming to take his dominant LGM form into the Kartmasters Grand Prix. York duly took pole position in the first timed qualifying to give him pole position for his opening two heats. He was joined by Bhavmeet Singh who had a difficult session, finishing 37th overall.
York took a hard faught 3rd in the opening heat, but was dropped 10 seconds for a nosecone infringement, meaning he finished 15th - teammate Singh took 23rd in his first ever heat racing around PF International. York hit back winning his 2nd heat, with Singh 25th in his.
Qualifying 2 saw York a surprise 23rd after suffering with kart issues, Signh likewise struggling and was 40th overall. In the two heats that followed, York had a difficult third heat finishing in 16th position, but faired much better in his final heat - gaining thirteen positions to finish 2nd. Singh was forced to retire at half distance in his third heat with damage, which sadly forced him out of his final heat.
Singh managed to come through the B-Final after his best performance of the weekend, finishing 6th and getting into the main Grand Prix Pre-Final and Final.
York started 7th in the Pre-Final, launching to the front by lap 7. A race long battle between him at the three BKC drivers saw the lead change back and forth, before York was hung out on the second hairpin, dropping him to 6th position - where he finished the race. Singh had a difficult race, on tyres much more used that the rest, finishing 34th overall.
The Grand Final was almost a repeat of the Pre-Final for York, a good opening stint of the race saw him embroiled in a battle with the BKC Drivers. York made his move to come through to the front of the pack, taking two of his rivals within two corners!
Going for the lead at the second hairpin - his rival chopped across the front of him, forcing contact and dropping York back to fourth. He immediately gained a position back going into the final lap.
York went into the bowl in 3rd and pulled off an outrageous move - around the outside of the two drivers to come out in the lead of the race, taking the victory over the line!
Sadly though, the contact in the second hairpin had dislodged his nosecone and cruelly denied him of the victory in Junior X30.
Senior X30 saw Rotax regulars Josh White and Josh Skelton join Scott Mackrell in the class, alongside Connor Hall, making a one-off return to karting.
Mackrell took a brilliant 2nd fastest time in qualifying, with White and Hall taking 4th and 5th fastest, Skelton setting the 14th fastest time struggling to get a clear lap in.
White was taken out in his opening heat but came back with a 3rd in his second. Mackrell took a strong 6th and a 2nd in his heats, Skelton a 4th and 10th, and Hall taking a strong 9th and a 5th on his racing comeback.
Into Quali 2, White took the 3rd fastest time overall, Hall and Mackrell taking 12th and 13th overall with Skelton 17th in a difficult early session.
The remaining heats saw White and Mackrell both taken out in their 3rd heats, but faught back to a 1st and a 3rd respectively in their final heats. Skelton endured a more consistent pair of heats with a 7th and a 12th. Hall rounded off the heats with a 6th and a 7th. These results gave Hall 7th, Skelton 8th, Mackrell 10th and the luckless White 24th on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Hall lead the charge, fighting for the podium from the off, taking an eventual 4th position less than a second off the win. Skelton finished ahead of the next train of karts in 6th position, three positions ahead of teammate Mackrell in 9th. White's luckless time continued, despite finishing 11th on the road, he suffered a nosecone infringement dropping him to 28th in the classification.
The Grand Prix for Senior X30 was a tight contest from the off, with a train of karts fighting for the lead. Hall hit the front on lap 7 only to be immediately deposed as the lead changed lap by lap. At the end of a furiously fast final, Skelton finished 5th overall as the highest placed Coles driver, White finished 9th on the road but again fell foul of a nosecone penalty - dropping him to 19th. Mackrell was taken out of contention after just 9 laps of the race, whilst returnee Hall finished 7th on the road after his bright start, but was aggrieved to have caused contact and was excluded from the results.
A Kartmasters weekend that saw the team lead in every final bar one was not to be in the final results, such is the nature of these one-off events - anything can happen! The team moves onto the final rounds of the LGM and Rotax Euro Challenge, after recharging the batteries from the five day event at Kartmasters.

Zuera in Spain hosted the third round of the Rotax Euro Challenge, where our drivers in Junior and Rota
Adam Smalley was the team’s only representative in the Junior Max class with a difficult qualifying session seeing Smalley take 18th on the grid for the heats. Smalley made up decent ground in heat 1, taking 10 places to come home in 8th place. Heats 2 and 3 unfortunately saw Smalley pick up penalties for front fairings along with a whole host of other drivers giving Smalley 17th on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Smalley quickly worked his way up the order to sit in 10th place by lap 5, but contact from another driver saw Smalley drop to the back of the field and finishing in 28th place.
Smalley had it all to do from the back of the grid in the final from 28th. A good opening lap saw Smalley make up 5 places to take up 23rd place as the field completed lap 1.
Smalley settled in and continued his progress through the field, picking off each competitor as he came across them to steadily move his way up the order. As the chequered flag waved, Smalley had taken half the field to finish in 14th and limit the damage caused by the misfortune in the Pre Final.
Josh White led the way for Coles Racing in qualifying, taking 11th ahead of teammates Tom Croydon, Josh Skelton and Stephanie Le Vesconte in 22nd, 23rd and 25th respectively.
Heat 1 saw White and Le Vesconte on the move with White gaining three places to finish 8th with Le Vesconte moving up five places to finish 20th. Skelton crossed the line in 20th, but a 5 second penalty saw him drop to 22nd, just ahead of Croydon in 24th.
Heat 2 saw more progress from White to finish 8th on the road, but a 5 second penalty dropped him to 14th. Skelton gained 6 places for 17th ahead of Le Vesconte and Croydon in 22nd and 23rd. Heat 3 saw White hold station to collect 11th place after losing ground in the opening stages and dropping to 15th with Skelton and Croydon following each other up the order to finish in 17th and 18th respectively and just ahead of Le Vesconte in 20th.
White lined up in 8th for the Pre-Final and was embroiled in a close race with several other drivers until contact from behind saw him drop down to 22nd on lap 5. White pushed on and recovered well to come home in 13th place. Croydon continued his march further forward to move up to 16th place from 23rd on the grid despite a difficult first few laps with Le Vesconte tucked up behind him in 17th place. Skelton also progressed well, going from 20th on the grid to cross the line in 12th, but a 5 second penalty unfortunately dropped him to 19th.
Coles Racing Teammates White and Croydon lined up in 13th and 16th on the grid for the Final with Le Vesconte on P17 and Skelton racing from P19. A stunning first lap saw White up into 5th before taking 4th and getting in stuck in with the lead group. White dropped back to 5th on lap 5, but held on to the drivers in front of him to regain 4th place with a handful of laps to go. The chequered flag waved with White coming home in 4th, but falling foul of the front fairing rules and picking up a 5 second penalty to give him 10th on the final classification. Croydon, Le Vesconte and Skelton all endured hard racing with Croydon having to settle for 20th and Le Vesconte and Skelton classifying as 22nd and 23rd respectively after not seeing the chequered flag.
The Zuera results mean Smalley is currently 7th overall in the Junior Standings, whils White leads the way for Coles in Rotax Max with 5th overall in the standings.
The next event will be the Briitsh Kart Grand Prix for Kartmasters, hosted at the PF International Circuit on August 4-7.

Edgar took the win after not being headed throughout the 17 lap race. Ravenscroft battled hard to retain 5th position and Burgess came home 14th.
The final saw a duel between Edgar and Ravenscroft, as they swapped the lead on numerous occasions early on. Edgar went on to take the victory, completing a clean sweep for himself. Ravenscroft took a strong 5th with Burgess sadly not finishing.
Junior Max saw Tyler Chesterton be the teams sole representative. He was unable to get a time in during qualifying due to some on the grid technical issues, meaning he would start both his heats from the back of the field.
Chesterton was forced to retire in the first heat after getting up to 11th position. He finished the second heat in10th position, gaining 9 places from his starting grid and outlining he had the pace to come through and challenge.
The Pre-Final saw him line up 15th. Chesterton made good progress throughout the race, setting the 2nd fastest lap in progress to finish 8th.
In the final, Chesterton made a great start, thrusting him into the battle for the podium positions. By lap7 he was in P4, seeking out third place. He made his move with 2 laps to go, holding on for 3rd position and a well deserved podium.
Ethan Rees joined the team in Junior X30 at Fulbeck. After early mechanical gremlins marred his preparation, he hit back with a strong 3rd and an 8th in his heats, to line up 6th on the grid in the Pre-Final.
Sadly first lap contact eliminated Rees from the action and would have to start the final from the back of the field. Nevertheless, he staged a fightback in the final, taking 9 positions on the opening lap, eventually finishing the race in 5th position,
Senior Max saw Josh White in imperious form around the Lincolnshire race track! After taking pole position in qualifying, White went out to make the circuit his own, by winning both heats in dominant fashion to give himself the hole shot in the Pre-Final. Coles Racing teammates Josh Skelton, Morgan Rose, Stephanie Le Vesconte and Tom Croydon, would line up 3rd, 7th, 10th and 11th respectively, after all showing strong pace throughout their races, banking solid finishes.
The Pre-Final saw White keep up his powerful display, taking the win from his teammate Skelton to lead home a Coles Racing 1-2. Croydon made up strong ground to finish in 6th position, whilst Le Vesconte was unlucky with some lap 1 carnage, which saw her not finish the race.
White ended the weekend as he started it, at the head of the field after another crushing performance, completing a total clean sweep and maximum points score to boost his title aspirations. Skelton followed him home in 2nd position to supply even more silverware to the team. Rose took 6th after coming through from the back of the fiel Le Vescote salvaged 11th in a tough final, whilst Croydon's luck ran out after a difficult race dropped him to 13th at the flag.
The last race up was the X30 Senior class with Scott Mackrell representing Coles Racing. Mackerell took a consistent 6th and 7th in his heats to star the Pre-Final from 7th.
A very competitive Pre-Final made it hard for Mackrell to make progress, finishing in 8th position. In the Final though, Mackrell rediscovered the form he had exhibited at the previous rounds, as he managed to fight his way onto the podium, taking the 2nd fastest lap in the process on his way to 3rd position.
After 4 rounds of the championship, White leads the Senior Max standings, whilst Edgar and Mackrell both line up in 2nd overall in Minimax and X30 Senior respectably.
With just over half distance in the championship completed, Coles Racing are still in the hunt for 4 British Karting Championship titles in the Rotax and X30 classes.

Buckmore Park played host to the sixth round overall of the Super One British Karting Championship.
Clayton Ravenscroft, Jonny Edgar and Ben Burgess lined up in the Minimax class, delivering the 5th, 8th and 12th fastest times in qualifying in a difficult session.
Ravencroft and Edgar finished line astern in 3rd and 4th in the first heat, before a front fairing infringment demoted Ravenscroft to 6th. Burgess finished a seasons best 6th but was also given a penalty, leaving him in 11th position.

Edgar lined up 7th, Ravencroft in 10th and Burgess in 11th for the Pre-Final.
Burgess was knocked to the back of the back by a rival driver at the start and had to make up for lost ground. Edgar and Ravenscroft managed to come through the field, finishing 5th and 10th after the latter received a 10s penalty.
The final was difficult for all drivers, in a closely faught race, Edgar finished in 6th position, Ravenscroft 8th, and Burgess gaining three places to finish 15th.
Tyler Chesterton was quick off the mark in Junior Rotax, setting the 4th fastest time to be just 0.17s off pole position. Chesterton translated this into a 5th place finish in the opening heat, following up with victory in the second heat. Sadly this was taken away from his, as a non-compliance cruelly excluded him from the results.
This gave him a 17th position start for the Pre-Final. Determined to fight back to the front, Chesterton put on a great race to come through to 7th position at the flag, gaining ten places on the way.
Starting from 7th on the grid in the final, Chesterton made a demon start and was in 3rd position by lap 2. A fight for the lead ensued between the top three, before Chesterton broke free fully on lap 13, holding the lead to the end of the race, taking his maiden British Championship event victory after a brilliant comeback through the two finals!
Senior Max saw Josh White, Josh Skelton, Morgan Rose, Stephanie Le Vesconte and Tom Croydon take 4th, 6th, 12th,13th and 14th respectively in qualifying.

Heat 2 saw White take 3rd, Skelton finished in 6th, Rose in 9th, Le Vesconte rising to 10th position and Croydon finishing 13th after being denied by a nosecone infringement.
The Pre-Final saw White taken out of contention after the opening lap, meaning a back of the grid start for the championship leader for the Final. Skelton came to the fore and finished a strong 4th position. Rose delivered another solid performance to come home in 8th position. Croydon and Le Vesconte once again battled well to finish in 10th and 11th.
The Grand Final saw Skelton fight for the lead throughout the race, battling for the podium which he just missed by 0.5s in 4th position. Rose was denied a consistently strong set off finishes by a nosecone infirngment, dropping him down to 15th. White succumbed to the same fate, after fighting through the field and finishing in 8th position, he was demoted to 13th, thwarting his run of podium finishes. Croydon and Le Vesconte both endured tough finals, finishing in formation at the end of the 20 lap final in 11th and 12th positions.
Buckmore overall was a difficult weekend for the team, with fate seemingly conspired against all drivers, with none of the drivers able to get a clean rub of green. However Chesterton ensured Coles Racing kept up it's podium scoring record in 2016, and we would like to congratulate him on his maiden victory at British Championship level!
The next round of the Super One Series is at Fulbeck at the beginning of July (8-10th), where the team will be itching to get back into the hunt for more wins in all Rotax Classes.

JOSH WHITE MAINTAINED COLES RACING'S PODIUM RUN IN ALL COMPETITION BY TAKING 2ND PLACE AT CASTELLETTO FOR THE SECOND ROUND OF THE ROTAX MAX EURO CHALLENGE...
Castelletto in Italy hosted round two of the RGMMC Rotax Max Euro Challenge.
Adam Smalley kept up his great one lap pace by taking 4th overall in his qualifying group in Junior Max. The second group made use of better track conditions to set better times, meaning Smalley was classified as 9th overall in both sessions.
Smalley converted his strong starting positions into a two 3rd positions in his opening two heats, narrowly missing out on 2nd position in both. An unlucky third heat saw him finish down in 8th position after getting muscled out of position and fighting his way back through.
This gave Smalley a starting position of 8th for the Pre-Final.
A good start saw Smalley immediately gain ground and breaking into the top 5 by lap 4. From here he was in a race long battle with a train of karts fighting for the victory, as he crossed the line in 5th position, just 0.1s behind his rival and 1.5s off the victory.
The Grand Final saw a great start see Smalley vault up to 2nd place, before early battling put him back down to 4th. Smalley maintained his position for the rest of the race, finishing just 0.1s off a podium finish!
Josh White led the Coles Racing Rotax Max drivers over the course of the weekend. Despite only qualifying 11th overall in the combined timed qualifying, Josh hit the fore in the heats, taking two 2nd places and a 3rd to wind up second overall on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Fellow Rotax Max Drivers Josh Skelton Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte qualified 22nd, 34th and 35th after some unlucky heats masking solid pace for the trio.
White initially dropped a place at the start of the Pre-Final, before battling past his two rivals to take the lead on lap 6. White was never headed for the remainder of the race, bagging pole position for the Grand Final. Skelton endured a difficult race where he was baulked throughout finishing an eventual 23rd. Croydon gained 6 positions in his race, whilst Le Vesconte was taken out of contention on the 2nd lap and forced to retire.
White held the lead in the Grand Final for the opening laps, before his rivals behind made use of the slipstream and got onto his rear bumper. On the fifth lap White was deposed of the lead and became embroiled in a close contest with Scholl for the victory. As the laps ticked by, the gap never increased over 0.2s, but White was unable to make a move stick, finishing the Final in 2nd, but banking important points for the championship and maintaining Coles Racing's podium run in all competitions!
Another strong weekend for Smalley and White see's them both sit 5th overall in their respective championship standings, still in contention for the title with two races to go!
TWO OUT OF TWO FOR YORKIE IN LGM

Oliver York continued his unbeaten streak at the head of the Junior X30 standings in the LGM X30 UK Tour after taking victory at Kimbolton...
Kimbolton hosted the second round of the Little Green Man Series and the X30 UK Tour. Coles Racing entered Oliver York and Tyler Chesterton in Junior X30, whilst Scott Mackrell was the sole entrant in X30 Senior.
Over 60 entrants in both classes, requiring C and B Finals meant for a busy meeting with the random grid format being used rather than timed qualifying.
York made great progress in his heats, landing strong finishes of 5th, 9th and a 1st, leading his teammate home in a Coles 1-2, which was enough to give him 2nd on the grid for the Final, tied on points with the pole sitter.
Chesterton charged through the opening heat, gaining 23 places as he took a strong 9th, followed up by an 11th and a 2nd in the remaining heats to end up 6th on the grid for the final.
York immediately took the lead in the Final after a great start, from which he led every lap and was never headed. York crossed the line to win by a scant 0.1s from his pursuers as he completed back to back LGM X30 Tour Final wins to further cement himself as the one to beat.
Chesterton sadly didn't get the rub of luck for the final. A rough start saw him dropped down the order to 24th position after some serious contact on the opening lap. After pushing back up the order, once again he was embroiled in contact, this contact sadly saw Chesterton become a victim of the front fairing infringement, meaning a 10 second penalty and an unfortunate end to his promising day.
Scott Mackrell showed great pace from the off! Taking 3rd position in the opening heat, aswell as taking fastest lap on the way. Heat 2 saw him make great progress through the pack, gaining 10 places from his starting slot to finish 17th ath the chequer. His final heat was more frustrating, starting from 12th in the tight pack made for hard progress as he finished the race where he started.
These positions gave Mackrell 10th on the grid for the Final. Mackrell maintained his position as a large train of karts from 4th position back to 11th formed. Mackrell managed to work his way into 7th position, before getting punted off on lap 13, dropping him to the back of the pack into 26th position.
A mixed day overall for the three drivers, with both Chesterton and Mackrell not getting the bit of luck their paced deserved! Oliver York however has remained imperious in Junior X30, and will be looking to carry this form on further into the next round at Glan-Y-Gors on the 11th and 12th June.

Ravenscroft was denied a 4th in the opening heat for a front fairing infringement followed up by an 8th in heat 2.
Burgess took a 13th and a 16th in his first races for Coles.
Their heat results gave them 2nd, 11th and 15th respectively on the grid for the first of the two finals on Sunday.
In a rough but tight opening first final, Edgar held onto 3rd at the flag after a race long battle for the win. Ravenscroft was baulked by a train of karts to come home in 11th, whilst Burgess finished 17th after a harsh front fairing penalty.
The Grand Final saw Edgar pushed off the track on the second lap, dropping him down to 11th where he battled back to 5th at the chequered flag. From 5th to 11th, the gap was less than half a second over the line! Ravenscroft came home in 10th position and Burgess in 13th to take the Rookie victory!
Tyler Chesterton was the sole representative in Junior Rotax. A difficult qualifying saw him in 10th position for his heats. Progress was hard in the tight pack as Chesterton took 11th and 14th in the two heats to give himself 11th for the start of the first final. Chesterton took 12th in the first final after a race long battle in a train of 4 karts.
Chesterton's Grand Final saw him make great progress through the pack, as he battled up to 6th position at the finish to bank some solid points.
Rotax Max saw Josh White, Josh Skelton, Morgan Rose, Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte take 1st, 4th, 11th, 13th and 15th in qualifying. White duly converted pole positions into two wins. Skelton took an 8th and a 7th in a frantic pair of heats. Rose and Croydon took a consistent 10th and 12th each and Le Vesconte took 13th and 11th in her two heats.
The first of the finals saw White denied a victory from pole position, in the aggressive fight for the lead he came home in 4th position with the fastest lap. Rose and Skelton took 8th and 9th in a close finish. Croydon and Le Vesconte were 12th and 13th before the latter receiving a front fairing infringement penalty.
The Grand Final saw White recapture the winning form as he took the victory on the final lap, whilst setting the fastest lap in the process! Rose drove a solid race to 9th whilst Skelton endured a difficult race being knocked back numerous times, finishing an eventual 11th. Le Vesconte battled well to finish 13th and Croydon who finished originally in 12th, was sadly a victim of the front fairing infringement, demoting him to 14th.
Scott Mackrell put it 3rd overall in timed qualifying for X30 Senior, which he followed up with a 3rd and a 6th in his heats, therefore he would line up 3rd for the first of the finals.
Mackrell managed to get the better of 2nd placed Brett Ward after a race long battle, sadly the leader was out of range by the time he cleared into 2nd.
The second final saw a rain shower affect proceedings, the change in weather suited Mackrell well, as he maximised his opportunity to take the lead and eventually the victory in the opening round of the X30 Senior Super One British Championship.
This marked a continuation of the great run of podiums for the team, as their attention now heads towards the 2nd Round of the LGM and Rotax Euro Challenge Championships at the start of May.

Oliver York dominated the weekend in the opening round of the Little Green Man X30 UK Tour at PF International! After taking pole position, He was never headed throughout the rest of the weekend.
The opening round of the Little Green Man, IAME X30 Tour took place at PF International on the same weekend as the opening Rotax Euro Challenge event at Genk.
Oliver York was immediately on it straight out of the blocks in Junior X30, taking the fastest time out of the 82 entered drivers by 0.14s!
York would start the first Pre-Final from the head of the pack. Right from the off, York established his dominance by resisting all the pressure from behind, taking a lights to flag victory by just 0.2s at the finish.
This result gave York pole position for the Final. After briefly being deposed for the lead on lap two, York swiftly took it back from his rival and held the gap too the battling pack behind.
York was never quite far away enough too break the slipstream, but York held on to complete a clean sweep at the opening round of the championship with a dominant performance.
York takes away a maximum points haul from the opening round as he takes an early championship lead forward to the rest of the year.
Scott Mackrell was also a sole representative for Coles Racing in the X30 Senior Class. Again Scott would be racing on a grid of over 80 drivers, with both X30 categories managing over 160 entries in total, it was never going to be an easy ride which such a large range of talent in attendance.
Scott rose to the challenge by taking the 7th fastest time in his group, making him 19th overall as the two previous groups made the most of better conditions in their qualifying sessions.
Scott made a great start from 7th in the Pre-Final taking 5th early on. As the race drew on and the battle intensified, Scott found himself back in 7th position at the flag after a hard faught affair.
This meant Scott would start the Final from 20th on the grid. After surviving the early lap melee, Scott got his head down to make his way through the quality pack of drivers. Picking them off at a steady rate saw Scott finish the 14 lap final in 13th position. However a fair few drivers infront had fallen foul of the nosecone infringement rules, these promoted Scott into 8th overall when the final classification was published.
Overall a very strong showing from both drivers in massive grids which bodes well for the rest of the LGM UK X30 Tour.
GUTTING FINAL RESULT AT GENK
April 4, 2016
Genk, Belgium
Dry / Clear
Adam Smally was robbed at a shot of victory after a great showing all throughout the weekend in Juniors, Josh White likewise denied in frantic finals at Genk...
Genk in Belgium was the destination for the opening round of the 2016 RGMMC Rotax Euro Challenge Championship.
Adam Smalley continued his great form in European, taking his second pole position in a row after the Winter Cup to give himself the perfect position to target the big points in the following heats.
Smalley went off the first heat from pole, leading for the majority of the race. However on lap 6 he was passed by one of his rival, who made the most of the tow on the long straights to make his move. Smalley held on for 2nd at the finish.
Heat 2 saw Smalley deposed for the lead early on, but he stayed with the leading group as they battled for victory all race long. Smalley finished the heat in 3rd position, just 0.8s off the lead.
Heat 3 saw Smalley knocked back to 7th position at the start of the 2nd lap after plenty of loading in the opening lap of the race.
Undeterred, Smalley got into a rhythm and tore back up the field into 2nd position on the final lap, which he held to the line, just 1.5s off the win.
The results of the heats gave Smalley 2nd on the grid for the Pre-Final.
Smalley made a fantastic start to take the lead early on, before a battle between the top 4 raged on throughout the race. After numerous position changes, Smalley finished in 3rd.
The final saw Smalley start from 3rd. After initially losing one position in the opening jostling, he retook his starting position and joined the battle for the win. The top three ran within 0.5s of each other for the majority of the race until the 12th lap. An incident delayed Smalley and one of his rivals as the leader took the opportunity to take advantage and pull a gap for a safe win. Smalley fell just short of taking 2nd position by a mere 0.2s.
Sadly Smalley was deemed responsible for the 12th lap incident, where he was given a 10second penalty added too his race time, meaning he was classified 19th after all the judicials.
In Seniors, Josh White was again in great form, taking the 2nd fastest time overall in qualifying. The opening heat saw White maintain his 2nd position after a close battle all race long with the eventual heat winner. Teammate Josh Skelton embarked on the start of his recovery after struggling in qualifying to finish 15th. Heat 2 saw Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte endure a difficult race in the tightly packed grid, finishing 17th and 22nd respectively.
The third heat saw White pushed down the order at the start, falling as low as 13th, which he quickly recovered from as the fastest kart on circuit taking 6th at the flag. Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte held their own well to move up the order, Skelton made the most progress with a 7 place gain.
The heats gave White 4th on the grid for the Pre-Final and teammate Skelton in 22nd. A combative race saw White baulked in his progress through the pack on the opening lap, having to repeat his 3rd heat heroics to come home in 9th position, one place ahead of Skelton who had gained 12 positions in the Pre-Final.
The final as expected was a fiercely fought race, with Josh White bearing the brunt of some exuberant driving on the penultimate lap. After charging up to 4th position, an ambitious move by a rival driver resulted in White being completed taken off the circuit, and out of contention for a podium finish for which he pace certainly deserved. Skelton survived the carnage around him to deliver a very solid 10th position at the flag.
Overall the opening round of the championship was a bittersweet one for the Rotax team, clear pace was masked by unfortunate incidents marring the weekends of Smalley and White, denying them podium finishes. Despite this, the continued strong pace of the team can only lead to success as the season goes on.

Ravenscroft had a strong opening heat to come home in 6th, before suffering some cruel misfortune like Edgar in the second heat being knocked down to 12th.
The results from the heats gave them 5th and 9th on the grid respectively.
Final 1 saw Edgar and Ravenscroft come to the fore, making great progress through the pack to gain 3 and 5 places respectively, finishing 2nd and 4th at the flag.
The Grand Final saw both drivers start on the unfavoured outside for turn one. Both made it through the opening lap well in 2nd and 3rd to challenge for the lead. Ravenscroft's charge was blunted after being knocked back to 6th by a train of karts on lap 6, whilst Edgar remaining in pursuit of victory. After a few lead swaps, Edgar finished in 2nd, just 0.1s off the win. Ravenscroft recovered to 8th place.
Junior Max driver Tyler Chesterton qualified in 5th position for his opening heats, which he translated into a strong 3rd position in the opening heat, before a penalty thwarted his result in the second heat.
These results gave him a 9th place start for the first of the two finals. Chesterton immediately fought back in the First Final, gaining 4 positions in the tight pack to finish in 5th position, this is where he would start the Grand Final.
In another tight race, involving a 5 kart battle for 2nd position, Chesterton was involved in a close battle all the way to the finish, just missing out in the commotion at the end of the race, finishing in 6th position.
Rotax Max saw the lineup of new recruit Josh Skelton, Josh White, Morgan Rose, Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte qualify 1st, 4th, 8th, 12th and 10th respectively for the opening heats.

Skelton doubled up on victories in Heat 2, with White coming home in 4th position after a strong battle at the front. Teammates Croydon, Le Vesconte and Rose finishing in formation of 10th, 11th and 12th.

White made up two positions to finish in 5th position aswell as his teammates as Rose finished in 8th, Le Vesconte 10th and Croydon making up 5 positions to finish in 11th.
White made a great start in the Grand Final, as the team of Skelton and White circulated in 2nd and 3rd in the opening laps. White hit the front of the pack on the fourth lap with Skelton following him through. White was never headed from then, crossing the line to take the victory by 0.6s.
Skelton was unfortunate to be knocked back o the 12th lap whilst running second behind his teammate, later recovering to 5th at the flag after an unlucky end to a brilliant debut weekend with the team.
Morgan Rose finished the eventful final in 9th position, Croydon in 11th and Le Vesconte in 12th.
After the opening round of the championship, Josh Skelton is 2nd in the Rotax Max standings, with victor Josh White in 4th. Jonny Edgar is 2nd in the Minimax standings and Tyler Chesterton is 7th in Junior Max.

Heat 1 saw Edgar convert his pole position into the race victory, Ravenscroft finished the heat in 6th position after a solid race.
Heat 2 was a combative race for both drivers, Ravenscroft taking the lead at the start as Edgar was knocked back into the pack with the congested opening lap.
Edgar recovered back to 2nd at the flag, but was hit with a 10s penalty for a front bumper infringement. Ravenscroft coming home in 7th.
The Pre-Final again saw harsh luck for Edgar. Despite a race long battle for the lead, he came home in 3rd position, only to again fall foul of the new bumper ruling. Ravenscroft had a hard race in the hard fighting midfield, coming home in 5th.
Edgar on home soil put on a great fightback from 9th, to gain 7 positions and finished 2nd at a line, just missing out o a record 4 'O' Plates in a row.
Junior Max duo Adam Smalley and Tyler Chesterton qualified in 6th and 9th for the racing heats. Smalley would be the victim of bad luck in the opening heat, finishing down in 19th position, whilst Chesterton faired better coming home 6th.
Heat 2 saw Chesterton finish 4th in a super close finish in a train of 3 karts. Smalley again was luckless in the race, finishing 10th despite setting the second fastest lap.

Senior Max saw drivers Josh White, Tom Croydon and Stephanie Le Vesconte experience a difficult weekend. White fairing the best in qualifying with 5th position.
None of the drivers could catch a break in the opening heat, as all drivers faced a bad luck in an up and down heat. White finishing 8th, Croydon finishing 15th after a front fairing penalty and Le Vesconte finishing in 14th.
Heat 2 was another hard race, with the front pack breaking away, progress was hard to make in the talented field. White coming home in 5th, Croydon 13th and Le Vesconte 14th.
The Pre-Final continued to be challenging for the team, as the action hotted up in preparation for the final. White battled through to 6th, before being demoted for the front fairing, Le Vesconte came home in 10th, whilst Croydon was forced to retire 5 laps from the end.
Cruel luck restricted White to just a single lap in the Final, after being taken out of contention in the opening skirmish. Croydon and Le Vesconte faired better, making good progress to come home in 7th and 8th at the finish.
Overall it was a challenging weekend at the British Open, with the team in general missing out on that of luck needed to be victorious, despite showing great pace all round.

This time it was our latest edition, Jonny Edgar in his first ever Mini Max!
Jonny took little time to acclimatise himself to the class, immediately taking the field by storm to win the Grand Final by over 6 seconds! Jonny further compounded his pace with setting fastest lap.
Jonny has showed great maturity in taking on this new challenge with a new class and a new team having only sat in a Mini Max on the Friday of the race meeting.
Clayton Ravenscroft finished in a strong 6th place demonstrating once again why he will be one to watch this season, after featuring at the front throughout the day.
Ben Burgees continued to impress in his first outing at PFI in Mini Max, finishing 8th in the Pre-Final and 9th in the Grand Final to complete a very successful weekend for the Minimax team, in tricky wet conditions!
In Junior Max Adam Smalley picked up another trophy. Adam again was at the top of the timesheets all weekend, solidifying this pace by finishing in a strong 3rd place in the Final.
Tyler Chesterton returned to Junior Max for only his second race in the class, showing strong pace to follow up Smalley's result with a solid 7th place.
Senior Max saw Josh White return to the class after 4 months out. Unfazed and as sharp as ever, Josh took a very convincing win in the Grand Final driving superbly all weekend in both wet and dry conditions, setting himself up nicely to head to Spain next week for the Rotax Winter Cup.
Tom Croydon finished in a respectable 6th place after a performing well all weekend, taking P3 in the Pre-Final. Stephanie Le Vesconte continued her impressive form, driving all the way from the back on the field to finish in 7th place, both drivers will be joining Josh at the Rotax Winter Cup with high spirits.
In Junior X30 the odds were against Oliver York as a spark plug failure in Timed Qualifying meant he wasn't able to set a timed lap. Oliver faught through from the back on the field in the second Pre-Final, to finish in 9th position. Oliver started the grand final in 18th position, storming through to finish 2nd and setting fastest lap, narrowly missing the win!
X30 Senior saw Scott Mackrell continue his impressive form from the end of 2015, taking a comfortable win in Pre-Final B, which was followed up with 2nd place in the Final.
